About
Cj Stranger…
(Cameron Henderson) hails from Darug Country, Blue Mountains NSW. He is an Australian story-telling-songwriter who blends crafted and quirky lyrics with a creative and constantly searching guitar style. His songs connect with people through everyday experiences, observations and struggles as well as images of the Australian landscape. Whilst his solo sets sit firmly in the folk genre with acoustic guitars, resonators and banjo his sound also has a large dollop of indie grunge grit, further realised with the full band. Stranger is not afraid to use fx to push the sonic possibilities of the instruments . CJ has released 3 albums ‘Hey Stranger’ (2020), Coming Up For Air (2023) and ‘Live at Dashville Skyline’ (2024). His songs have received regular airplay and rotation around the country on radio including on triple J, Double J and ABC Country. His most recent release ‘Raining In Sydney’ a song dedicated to fans of test cricket who have endured a day of rain at the SCG was played on Fox and ABC’s cricket broadcast.
CJ also is a session guitarist and regularly records and tours nationally and internationally with numerous Australian artists such as William Crighton, John Schumann (Redgum), Dave Wells, Melody Pool, Middle Kids and Angie Who as well as working on pro theatre shows such as Girl From the North Country (Bob Dylan), Moulin Rouge, Tina and Muriel’s Wedding the Musical.
